Days 26-27 (29th-30th August) – Prutz to Längenfeld.
A shortish, gentler ride today. First leg an easy cruise down the Inn valley to Imst, then a mildly challenging and winding climb through forest, pasture and along the Ötztaler Ache (River) up to Längenfeld, our stay for the next two nights.
On our rest day, Liz and Sam chose to spend part of the day floating weightlessly, being pummelled by spas and super-relaxing at the futuristic thermal Aqua Dome Resort.

Sue and I decided to stretch our legs hiking to the nearby Hängebrücke (suspension bridge). On route we passed the quaint Brandalm mountain hut, a tiny zoo with pot-bellied pigs, goats and rabbits.

Not much farther we chanced ourselves a dash across the 83 meter long bridge suspended 200+ metres above the valley floor.

As a reward, we stopped for a lovely lunch at a restaurant in the nearby hamlet of Burgstein (there seems to be a restaurant on hand at every elevation), then wandered down to town and our campsite via a hole in the mountain.
