Bolzano to Corvara

Brilliant blue skies to start my bike adventure. A bike path leading me out of Bolzano for the first 10km, vineyards on one side, river rapids the other. Then 3-4 km of ‘bike art’, wonderful sculptures and installations adding to the thrill of the ride.

So thrilled am I that I miss the turn off, and have to double back 2km.

Meandered up the slopes through chestnut and fir. Eventually out on a plateau of lush fields and rolling hills surrounded by towering cliffs. At last, a view of the Passo di Gardena, the highest point of the day (2,136m).
